March 31, 2005 - Tata Elxsi Ltd., the product design arm of USD 14.25 billion Tata Group, today opened its Chennai design and development centre and expressed keen interest for "local partnerships" with companies like Nokia in the area of wireless networking solutions. The centre, which will focus on providing networking services to customers in India and abroad, will employ 100 specialist engineers in the next three months, Jayen Gourishankar, head (design and development centre), Chennai, told reporters. The Chennai centre is the third development centre of Tata Elxsi. The company had opened a centre in Thiruvanthapuram about two years back. |
