Bangalore, India, January 18, 2006: Tata Elxsi today announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for smart phones based on Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, Tata Elxsi is extending its Mobile Computing based design services and solutions to the Symbian OS ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today’s most popular smart phones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers and to date, almost 48 million phones based on Symbian OS have shipped worldwide.
