BANGALORE, 8 February 2008: Tata Elxsi Mobile Services Group will feature its advanced mobile solutions at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 11-14 February 2008. The complete solution set includes a multi-standard mobile TV solution, interconnectivity solutions for fixed and mobile domains, DLNA solution for handhelds, long-term evolution user equipment (LTE-UE) stack and services, and well-proven solutions & software for WiMAX mobile stations and base stations.
The multi-standard mobile TV solution provides a complete user experience on mobile phones and other handheld devices, and can seamlessly switch between OMA-BCAST and DVB-CBMS protocol based DVB-H networks. With this switching feature, the solution becomes ubiquitous across all DVB-H networks, both existing and upcoming. The software platform from Tata Elxsi is geared for future requirements such as DVB-SH and comes with an application suite, providing a comprehensive user experience.
Tata Elxsi’s interconnectivity solution addresses, among other things, IP multimedia subsystems, presence servers and media & application servers. Low power, last mile devices will get a leg up with Tata Elxsi’s LTE-UE stack through improved spectrum usage and better integration with other open standards leading to cost-friendly services. By revolutionizing the way handhelds manage digital content, the DLNA solution expands handheld capabilities for today’s highly discerning customers.
Tata Elxsi already has advanced solutions for WiMAX mobile stations and base stations, including MAC and PHY software, which have been licensed to multiple vendors worldwide. With rapid development of WiMAX base station prototypes, it is critically important for product companies to perform testing and validation with a mobile station. Tata Elxsi’s WiMAX mobile station simulator is designed to address this issue effectively.
