The RDP contained six modules performing specific functions
.The modules were Host agent, BCRT (Mil 1553 bus) agent, Discrete
Bus agent, NVRAM agent, SCSI (Tape) agent, and Central Services Module. |

System to have built in diagnostics in each card to
allows user for pre flight testing. |
 |
Provision for standard debugging and development tools. |
 |
Host card based on a i386EX processor capable of booting
and running iRMX having a local SCSI interface. iRMX (3.2.1) was retargeted
to run on the custom built i386EX based single board computer. The
retargeting involved the development of Device Driver for a SCSI hard
disk for the RTOS and also the bootstrap loader. |
 |
BCRT agent ran on a card specific firmware used for
interfacing the ARDP with the Mil 1553 bus. |
 |
Discrete Bus agent is used to collect high-speed serial
data from the primary radar. This agent also implemented a receive
buffer used to collect and store the data before it is retrieved by
the host. |
 |
NVRAM (Non Volatile RAM) agent ran on a card specific
firmware helping the application on the host store crucial data collected
during run time and could be retrieved even after system shutdown. |
 |
SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) agent provided
an interface with a SCSI tape drive. The application could make use
of the SCSI tape interface to store and retrieve data. |
 |
CSM agent functioned the central services module card
coordinating the parallel system bus activities including a Global
time of the day clock helpful in keeping the system time. |
