Wired 10/100 Ethernet |
 |
Wireless LAN confirming to IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and
802.11g standards for LAN connectivity at frequency rate of 2.4 GHz
and 5 GHz |
 |
SmartAPnGTM provides flexible data rates
to the WLAN end stations ranging from 1Mbps - 54 Mbps confirming to
IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g standards. |
 |
On the Wired interface SmartAPnGTM is capable
of providing bandwidth upto100 Mbps. Line rate bridging and forwarding
is achieved on a wired 10/100 Ethernet interface. |
 |
On the WAN interface, bandwidth can range from 1.54
Mbps to 100 Mbps depending on the interface deployed. |
 |
Access-Point: This feature provides a central connection
point for all WLAN end stations at a customer premises network. This
feature is supplemented by Access Control list and various other Authentication
mechanisms like IEEE 802.1x where the access policies could be defined
by an network administrator preventing un-authorized users to get
connected to the customer network. |
 |
Secured LAN Connectivity: A secured data channel is
provided for the WLAN end stations to communicate with "SmartAPnGTM".
This ensures privacy across Access Point to End station communication
preventing hackers intercepting the customer data. |
 |
Wireless Relay: This feature enables the end stations
connected to "SmartAPnGTM" on a WLAN interface
to communicate to other end stations connected to other Access points
of the customer network. This feature is deployed in Campus networks
to interconnect the WLAN stations geographically segregated across
buildings / departments. |
 |
Roaming: Ability of "SmartAPnGTM"
to communicate to other Access points enables the end stations to
remain connected to the network when roaming between Access Points.
This feature is deployed in Campus networks to provide un-interrupted
connectivity to the WLAN stations when mobile across the buildings
/ apartments. |
 |
Remote Authentication: This feature enables "SmartAPnGTM"
to provide connectivity for external WLAN users moving into "SmartAPnGTM"
administered network. "SmartAPnGTM" when deployed
in hot spots could effectively uses this feature to authenticate and
authorize external users getting in to the network. |
 |
Wired - Wireless Bridge: This feature widens the LAN
connectivity from wired to wireless and provide transparent LAN communication
for end stations across Wired and Wireless LAN. |
 |
Shared Internet Connectivity: This feature enables
the customer network end stations to share a global identity (IP Address)
in communicating with the Internet. |
 |
Firewall: The Stateful Packet filtering feature secures
the Customer network from external Intrusions and provides security
from Spoofing, Ping of Death, Denial Of Service attacks and so on.
This also includes connection tracking based on Transport protocols
TCP/UDP and application protocols like FTP, HTTP and so on |
 |
Tunnel Pass Through: Ability to understand various
tunneling implementations allow end stations to themselves create
and communicate on secured Tunnels. This feature when deployed in
Coffee shops and Hot spots enables the users connected to "SmartAPnGTM"
to securely communicate to their peer spread across the Internet. |
 |
VPN: This feature aims to simulate private network
connectivity between the geographically segregated customer networks.
This feature when deployed in SOHO environments provides secured connectivity
across the customer network spread over the Un-trusted Internet Globe. |
 |
Next Generation Internet Access: Ability of "SmartAPnGTM"
to support IPv6 suite provides the end stations a means to access
Next generation Internet. |
 |
Bandwidth Control: This feature is to provide the customer
with a flexibility to define the network access to the end stations
connected on the customer network. This feature enables the Administrator
to define bandwidth allocation policies for the end stations on the
Wired as well as the Wireless LAN. |
 |
Billing per User: This feature is more applicable for
the coffee shop kind of deployments where in the amount of access
to network needs to be counted for. This feature enables the network
administrator to adopt "Pay per Use" policy where the end
user would be billed based on the amount of Internet usage. |
 |
Easy Administration: A user friendly Interface is provided
to ease the configurations to be carried out by the "SmartAPnGTM"
Administrator. Both SNMPv2 as well as CLI interface is provided for
user convenience. A Web Based interface is also provided to facilitate
remote configuration of the product. |
 |
Voice Gateway: The ability of "SmartAPnGTM"
to support Voice signaling stacks would enable the customer to deploy
this product as a Media Gateway. |
