Tata Elxsi also leverages its DSP capabilities in wireless areas including 3G, Wi-Fi, etc to deploy these technologies in products. The group focuses on building 3G communications technology, mainly related to the physical layer or Layer 1 of 3G stacks, and multimedia system layer for handheld devices. Services include:
- Wireless physical layer implementation for CDMA and 802.16e standard on various semiconductors (TI, Freescale, Stretch, Xilinx).
- Library development for DSPs meant for mobile devices and wireless base station equipment taking advantage of specific DSP architectures and application requirements.
- Wireless physical layer implementation in DSPs. Optimization for speed (MIPS) and memory.
- Implementation of Audio/Video processing components in mobile phones including standards based components like 3G-324M multimedia system layer for multimedia streaming to mobile devices in the 3G world.
