Tata Elxsi is actively involved in developing DSP and RISC platform based multimedia IPs. These IPs are robust and standards-based components with extensive APIs to allow easy customization depending on product development scenarios. They are highly optimized for memory and horsepower (MIPS) for quick deployment over embedded targets. These are available as off-the-shelf components that can be plugged into the customers' system or can be customized to meet specific needs of the system.

Tata Elxsi offers multimedia IPs in the following areas:

Speech Codecs: GSM-AMR Codec, SMV Codec, G.728 Codec, G.729 Codec
Audio Codecs: MP3 Decoder, MPEG2/4 AAC Decoder
Video Codecs: MPEG2 Codecs (Main and High Profiles), MPEG4 Codecs (SP, ASP, Core and Main Profiles)
Imaging Codecs: JPEG Decoder, JPEG2000 Decoder, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF

These IPs are implemented in ANSI C language, and hand-coded assembly language on multiple DSP and RISC platforms. They are designed to provide customers with high quality differentiated products and a time to market advantage.
