The eNodeB solution is designed to support multi-core and multi-thread architecture, which enables easy integration with multi-processor platforms and third party software. Specially designed for customization, it exposes well defined interfaces for vendors to incorporate product differentiator algorithms in areas like Radio Resource Management, Scheduler, and Hardware Acceleration for crypto algorithms etc.

The LTE eNodeB software stack is compliant with the latest 3GPP Release 8 specifications. This includes components like PDCP, RLC, MAC, RRC, RRM and RoHC. The eNodeB protocol stack comes with a proven and highly-scalable architecture to support multiple variants. The high capacity variant supports Macro and Micro deployments with 20 MHz 4 x4 and above with dynamic load balancing capabilities. The low capacity variant supports Femto and Pico deployments with customizable architecture for meeting a given performance objective. Both the variants exploits the platform’s underlying hardware engines and programming model for optimized Data Plane / User Plane, MAC-PHY Interface and Scheduler implementation.

Tata Elxsi LTE UE Emulator provides a low-cost embedded platform for lab use to test the functionality and performance of LTE eNodeB, also featuring real time emulation of multiple UE’s for scalability testing. It supports testing at RF level, L2-L3 level using MAC-PHY emulation layer, L1 level testing at Digital IQ level.
