Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai - Redefining the passenger travel experience
Airports are an inevitable part of travel experience today. A beautifully designed, well thought-out airport not only brings positive expectation for travelers but it also creates an identity for a city. Recently Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) got a new integrated terminal T2. GVK – India's largest infrastructure developers built T2 as an iconic mega-structure that will set global benchmarks in airport infrastructure development. Tata Elxsi associated with GVK to design the experiential services for various consumer touch points at T2. It aims to redefine passenger experience for passengers, raise operational efficiency and manpower productivity for airline staff.
We designed entertainment zones, customer service zones, general and lifestyle seating areas from security through to boarding gates. Other elements included designing pay / help phones, charging stations, ATM vending machine housing, internet workstations / kiosks amongst others. Tata Elxsi ensured the design language was in line with GVK’s brand promise to build T2 as a distinctly unique terminal which adheres to international standards, ensures sustainability, reflects elegance and improves the overall experience by providing convenience and comfort.
