Powertrain Design Engineer

We are looking for bright and passionate Powertrain Design Engineer skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in Design, Development Verification and Validation, Value engineering and Optimization of Powertrain system & sub-systems like Base Engines, FEAD System, Air Intake System, Exhaust & recirculation System, Cooling System, Fuel System, Engine Motion System, Lubrication System, Engine and Transmission mounts, and Transmission design.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, Development, Digital assembly, and Integration of Powertrain system, subsystem, and components
- Commodity planning to meet the Quality, Cost, Timeline as per customer’s requirements
- Communication and coordination with internal/external stake holder
- Tooling and production release, component readiness for proto and product build
- Manage test plans and design reviews leading to design signoffs
- Perform Tolerance stack analysis on complex assemblies
- Participate in DFMEA and DFMEA of the system and components/parts
- Issues management in line with program expectations and Gateway compliances.
Requirements
- Project management skills with at least 3 - 4 years of experience in leading complex projects in powertrain
- Strong knowledge of automotive commodity components/parts manufacturing, design and functional requirements
- Good knowledge of DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and PSW processes
- Good knowledge of DVP, testing, verification, validation, and sign-off
- Software expertise: UGNX, Team center
- Flexibility to travel and work at customer site
- Fluency in Japanese language will be the added advantage.
